The gas cartridge and
the "key box" area is covered by an ABS protector with buffer material
to protect the rider's chest in case of an accident.
As soon as the rider
is thrown from the motorcycle, the "Hit Air" is activated and sends
the CO2 gas into the air cushion so that it will provide protection
from the shock of impact even before it is fully inflated. .
The "Hit Air" may not
function properly if the jacket fabric is damaged (cloth, Kevlar,
leather etc.) or the air cushion. Consult with an authorised dealer
if any damage is visible. In many cases, the "Hit Air" can be repaired.
After the "Hit Air" is
inflated, the gas will begin to leak out through the release valve
automatically. A feeling of tightness may be felt but gradually subsides
in 5 to 10 seconds depending on the amount of the pressure in the
air cushion. If the excess pressure causes any discomfort simply unfasten
the jacket.
